Donation for the renovation of a rehabilitation facility in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam

JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation (“JX NOEX”, President and CEO: Toshiya Nakahara) is pleased to announce that we have donated US$23,000 to a rehabilitation facility for the disabled and Agent Orange affected children in Gio Linh District, Quang Tri Province, Vietnam (“Rehabilitation Center”) for the renovation of degraded facilities through our wholly owned subsidiary Japan Vietnam Petroleum Company Limited (“JVPC”) (President: Shinji Oka). Upon completion of the renovation work, a commemoration ceremony was held at the Rehabilitation Center where representatives of JX NOEX and JVPC as the sponsors; and a representative from People’s Committee of Gio Linh District, managers from the Rehabilitation Center and the children getting rehabilitation training, as the recipient attended. After the ceremony, we presented daily goods to the children as a gift.

Since the acquisition of Block 15-2 offshore Vietnam in 1992, JVPC has carried on oil and gas development and production in Rang Dong and Phuong Dong oil fields as an operator for more than 30 years and we consider Vietnam as one of our core business countries.

As a member of the local community in Vietnam, we have been working on various social contribution activities, such as donation to National Fund to cope with COVID-19 and support for constructions of educational and medical facilities. We provided support for the construction of the Rehabilitation Center in 2005 as one of our initiatives. Since it had become deteriorated, a renovation work was carried out with donations from our company.

The year of 2023 marks the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between Japan and Vietnam, and this renovation work was selected by the executive committee as a Recognition Project of JX NOEX on this occasion.

We will continue our efforts to strengthen the relationship with Vietnam.
